Bye Bye Original Sin, Hello Nana/Pappy's and Kennywood
In the past weeks Jay has been growing at an unbelievable pace. "Dad" has been back to work for several weeks now and can almost see a difference in the little guy every day when he comes home.
Jay was baptized on June 12 at St. Joan of Arc Church where his grandparents cousins and aunts and uncles were in attendance. Julie's best friend Becky was there to serve as the godmother and Tim's brother Matt came in from Philadelphia to serve as the godfather. Jay was just a perfect little angel. He barely made a peep throughout the entire service except a couple grunts when the priest blessed him. (I like to think that was the last little bit of evil coming out.) Then everyone came back to Jay's house for a picnic on what turned out to be a beautiful day.
For July 4th we travel every year to Fayetteville to visit the "Bradley Ranch," and this year was no exception. So after meticulous planning, packing and timing, we began our journey with Jay in tow. He was a trooper, however even he couldn't endure the extra hour of an 8 mile traffic jam, so we stopped and fed him at a rest stop on the way. Regardless, we made it and had a wonderful time showing Jay off to everyone in Fayetteville and spending some quality time at Nana and Pappy's.
Jay also experienced his first wedding by attending his second cousin Val's wedding. He was an absolute champ, barely making a peep all day and looking quite spiffy in his tie and dress clothes. Despite the music and lights, he even found time for a few cat naps here and there but enjoyed meeting some extended family.
Jay also had his first Kennywood experience... (If you call sleeping all day an experience.) He quietly slept most of the time and occasionally looked around at everything going on, like his 5 crazy cousins and his Gram and Pap riding the coasters, but all in all he was such a good little boy.
In other news, he's sleeping 8 hours pretty regularly which certainly puts a smile on our faces, but we can't help but wake up periodically anyways just to make sure he's ok. He's also begun digging his heels in and scootching himself around and the smiles are more plentiful than ever. We're just waiting to hear that first real laugh.
All in all time is passing much too quickly for our liking, but we'd better get used to it!
